Someplace to be Somebody

February 1, 2020

Why me?

I am sure I am not the only one to ask this question.

Why did God connect me with the Brandons? Why did He select me to help Marshall get God’s story in His life in written form?

I dunno.

A few years ago, I learned that I:

I’ll tell you this. It’s been the most formative time of my life as a follower of Jesus Christ, and I trust God for the outcome. Praise God, so do Marshall and his wife, Tik. I wouldn’t trade my relationship with this couple for anything. They’ve loved me through much, and I pray I do the same for them.

There’s a book coming. Many of you have been waiting and asking, “When’s the book coming out?”

I dunno.

God does.

The book started when I acted as Pastor Marshall’s assistant. I walked into his office to offer my skill as a writer to pen his memoir—this memoir that reads like an action thriller! Before I could offer, he held up his hand and said, “I have something I need to ask you. Will you take a stab at writing my story?”

Publishing is an insanely slow process if a writer goes the traditional route. Self-publishing, to me, wasn’t an option. We wanted the full force of an agent and respected publisher behind this endeavor.

The manuscript is complete. The book proposal has been in the hands of my very capable agent for over a year. Yeah—over a year.

That’s okay; we know God has the perfect publisher for this amazing story of His work in Marshall Brandon’s life. As of February 1, we have two interested publishers! Can we get an “Amen?”

Here we are, telling the world about the story we know honors the Lord. It’s His story.

Join us every day this month on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and even Pinterest to see snapshots of the book’s story.

Marshall and Katika will be on Facebook Live with Patricia Durgin (Marketers on a Mission), February 17 at 3:00. It will be fun and very revealing.

Please pray for us! Pray that God blesses us with the publisher He has chosen. And along the way, let me know how we may pray for you!

  1. I am praying that God leads the publisher He’s chosen to this book so that readers will see God’s redemptive power. Thank you for the update. I’m looking forward to reading “this memoir that reads like an action thriller.”

  2. I was fortunate to catch the broadcast, and now I’m even more excited about the book. May God, in His perfect timing, give it wings and help it fly to the perfect publisher!
